Whole School Field Trip to Trestle Creek

LPOHS students take some time out to view the spawning Kokanee

Students found all the Kokanee very interesting to observe

On Friday September 23 , LPO went on a field trip to Trestle Creek for our family meeting. We saw the beautiful spawning Kokanee Salmon. Some kids climbed over tree stumps and some walked in the water. The  fish were swimming and jumping, excited about spawning. Around the corner were lots fish bodies who died after spawning. After spending a while watching the fish, we had our family meeting in the wild! The teachers all talked about their “Student of the Month”. What could be better than that? Andrew Mayabb says ” It was new and fun experience”. Tyler Cochran exclaimed ” It was a nice outdoors experience, it was a very good way to let everyone relive some stress. ” All of that is very true, not only was it fun , but also a good way to bring the school closer.
