Monday, January 18 was nationally known as Martin Luther King Day (MLKD) for 2016. This holiday tends to be celebrated the third Monday each year of January. Which Martin Luther King’s birthday is on January 15. King was an influential American civil rights leader, making him well-known for his campaigns to end racial segregation and racial equality in the United States. In honor of this American leader, we (as a country) annually take time to close all federal businesses (such as schools, banks, etc) and appreciate everything this man had done for us. Businesses resume right after this day.
