After a decade-long absence, LPO is renewing a tradition of hosting Blood Drives!
On October 5th 2023, we had 24 units of blood donated which was 7 units over our target! And not to mention, that is 72 lives that could be saved! There were a handful first time donors, and several people who gave double donations! A couple kind, giving members of the community stopped by and took part in this rewarding event as well.
Donors were encouraged to sit down and eat a couple snacks, provided by the Blood Drive, for about 15 minutes afterwards. Taking several minutes to relax is crucial because if not, donors may become dizzy or lightheaded. We were able to talk to one donor who had this to say regarding the blood drive, “The snacks were worth having a needle stuck in my arm and I would do it again.”
