Thursday and Friday, October fifth and sixth the joyful cheers of students could be heard throughout the county.  No, it wasn’t in anticipation of Christmas morning it was that there was Teacher Professional Development and there was no school. While the students were sleeping in the teachers were immersed in meetings at the school. They day began their two day inservice with an activity with Underground Kindness and then it was right into student data. Staff created student growth goals, discussed the mission/vision statements and the upcoming District Writing Assessment. They broke into groups and brainstormed issues like graduation, school climate and post-graduation plans. It wasn’t all fun and games, they also found time to drink coffee and eat some lunch.
