US History Class Visits the Museum of North Idaho in Coeur D’ Alene.

On Tuesday October 18th Luke’s US History class took a trip to Coeur D’ Alene to research some of the area’s history.  The trip was to support a project that they will be working on for the rest of the quarter.  The project will be dealing with one of the essential questions for the class “How does America group its citizens”.  The students looked through the museum for examples of how Americans were grouped in our area.  They found issues of labor, ethnicity, education and a couple of others too. Now they will start to study more about these subjects and begin their final project.  Most of the students found the museum to be interesting with a great deal of exhibits to look at.  When asked what was their favorite part of the museum most talked about the old kitchen exhibit which was set up with kitchenwares from the early part of the century.  Others commented on different guns which were on display at the museum and how cool they were.  It was definitely a trip worth taking and it is always great to show other areas what LPOHS is about!
