Steve is a volunteer and substitute teacher at LPO. He worked at LPO for 17 years. He taught history, English and math. Steve was a teacher to many parents who now have children at LPO. Before he came to work here he worked in many elementary schools in Bonner County and Oregon. When he first started here, the Idaho Department of Labor gave the school a grant to build a green house. He and Randy and several students were paid through grant money to build the green house we now use. PBL stands for Project Based Learning, where students do hands on projects along with classroom instruction. The green house is a good example of that. In Steve’s free time he has 80 acres of farm which he grew up on and now farms himself. He raises cattle, horses, goats, and chickens. He also is a builder and has built his own house and seven others as well as three log cabins and other things like barns. He is quite political and has run for several positions in Bonner County.
